  • Airline news from Voyagers Zambia Premium

    Until 30 November 2015 Ethiopian Airlines Free is offering discounted rates for award ticket redemption for London, Mumbai, Delhi, Lagos, Accra, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing and Kuala Lumpur.

    To give passengers to London, East and West Africa optimal connectivity, from 29 October 2015, Ethiopian Airlines Free will have an extra flight departing from Lusaka every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

    Promotional fares available on Ethiopian Airlines Free from Lusaka to Dubai and Bangkok.

    Due to road works on Great East Road, Lusaka, check-in is now four hours before departure on all Ethiopian Airlines Free flights. Check-in online to save time and avoid inconvenience.

    Promotional fares are currently available to Dubai and Bangkok on Kenya Airways Free flights.

    Promotional fares in World Traveller (Business) and Club Class (Economy) from Lusaka to the North Atlantic via Johannesburg are currently available on British Airways Free flights.

    You can now earn miles on bookings made on all international Air Seychelles flights with Etihad Airways.

    From 30 October, 2015, Proflight Zambia Free flights to and from Durban will be cancelled on Tuesdays (except for flights over the Christmas/New Year period). The schedule will instead include Fridays.

    Monday evening and Tuesday morning Kitwe Proflight Zambia Free flights have been suspended. Affected passengers have been notified and transferred to Ndola flights.

    The Lusaka – Kafue National Park Proflight Zambia Free route will be discontinued for 2016.

    Firecracker through-fares are available from Proflight Zambia Free from Solwezi, Ndola, Kitwe and Mfuwe, as well as to and from Durban.

    Note the following Proflight Zambia Free schedule changes effective 16 November due to the end of the Safari Season: Thursday Lilongwe flights have been moved to Sunday; Mfuwe flights to and from Lusaka are now once per day; Mornings (P0 0800/1) on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday; and afternoons (P0 0802/3) on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday; Livingstone flights to and from Lusaka are now once per day at midday (P0 0704/5); Lower Zambezi and Kafue National Park operations have ended.

    There is a special sale fare for the new Harare to Victoria Falls route with Fastjet.

Last week we featured Zambian fashion designer Chisoma Lombe. This week we continue on our short journey through the Zambian fashion world, pausing at Angelika Huwiler. The daughter of a Swiss-German and a Zambian, Angelika has fantastic experience in fashion after working for international luxury brands like Prada. Angelika is bringing her valuable knowledge and experience to Zambia after settling back in Lusaka. We can credit Angelika for starting and Chairing the Zambia Fashion Council and Fashion Mix Zambia (with Mu Mudenda of Vala Designs). She also runs Zovala and is the Founder and Managing Director of Foxdale Court Office Park Premium – busy lady! Angelika is championing the Zambian fashion industry and we love her for it!
