Molapisi appointed as CEO of MTN Zambia
Charles Molapisi who has served as Chief Information Officer at MTN Nigeria since 2012 is appointed CEO of MTN Zambia just as ZICTA issues MTN and other operators warnings for poor service delivery. ZICTA has also threatened to block operator driven market promotions which they say negatively impacts service quality. Zambia’s mobile money market expands
Airtel Zambia reports that its mobile money service has grown by circa 300% between 2014 and 2015, claiming they have 4 million mobile money subscribers. Meanwhile, Wane Ng’ambi, Head of Mobile Money said many organisations, including small and medium enterprises, are now using MTN mobile money to pay for products and services.
